I think you can find chargers for the 3rd generation since it was the perfection from the first 2 prototypes. try the old nano charging cords and give it a try. there are adapters to fit in the section where it fits in. I wish you luck!

I just bought one on ebay and am a bit worried about the whole thing. I think it will be cool to have, but will it work in my Ihome? What about my radio transmitter? Does it have the same Charging cord and acessories as my oldish nano?

I have 2 Nanos, 5 shuffles, 4 are the 2nd generation, and the other the 1st. I also have the 5th generation click wheel with video with a wider screen, but my most favorite is THIS model because it is impossible to go past where I want to go on a play list. A slight touch of the button and I know I am exactly where I want to be. Yeah, it's thick, yeah it's heavier than all others, but simplicity for me is what makes this my favorite. I've had it since July 2003 and it got me through hell working in an office filled with bitter vindictive women trying to get into my business. Thank you God and Apple for making ALL of these models!

Mine is still going strong and have had it at least 5 years now. Only hassle i find is the kit to support it - i.e. charger and compatability with speaker dock's etc. Just got a 4th Gen for under £40 which should solve that and make my music collection manageable across the 3rd Gen and my little shuffle (which is also still fantastic).
