This was my first iPod and I still have it with original box etc. Have toyed with idea of seling on Ebay a couple of times but have never got around to it. Still works well but to be honest I dont use it as I have an iPod Touch, a 3rd gen Nano and 2 Shuffles !
Apple owning is a way of life for some of us !

I don’t think you are completely right about the rounded corners (unless you are talking about the rooundness of the corners as seen from the front, but they were rounded on the first generation iPods as well, weren’t they?). I have a second generation one myself (20 GB), and the edges of the transparent front plate are razor sharp. It still works fine apart from a bad battery, and I use it as an occasional harddisk for moving files around.

I knew my dad was prepared to spend big bucks on me Christmas of 2002, so I asked all my friends what they would want for Christmas if they were me. Scott said, without hesitation, an iPod. So that’s what I asked for. I was ecstatic when I opened the super-cool cube-shaped box. (Still have it.) This iPod is heavy as a brick compared to the newer ones, but on the plus side, I’ve never broken it by accidentally stepping on it. (One of my friends has lost several iPods this way!) It is my very treasured companion on long trips and has provided me with hours of music and podcasts as I traveled throughotu Europe. I have never had any problems with it. If I ever do get a new one, I will keep this one as a back-up hard drive. So cool. Thanks, Apple.
