Development work on the design of the iPod nano started only nine months before its launch date. Apple released some accessories, including armbands and silicone “tubes” designed to bring color to the nano and protect it from scratches, as well as a combination lanyard-earphone accessory that hangs around the neck, and avoids the problem of tangling earphone cords.

Testing by technology-enthusiast website Ars Technica has shown that even after being sat on, dropped by a jogger, dropped four times from a car moving at various speeds, then being driven over twice by the car, and finally dropped from nine feet onto concrete, the unit’s screen was damaged but it could still play music. The unit finally stopped playing music after being thrown 40 feet into the air and landing on concrete.

I got an ipod nano when they first came out. Unfortunately the early ones scratched very easily so I have to be careful with it. Still works well though particularly with the Nike+ kit for running. It’s great for the gym too.

I got my ipod nano a couple of xmas’s ago whilst at uni, mainly for using on the train between shrewsbury and liverpool and walking to lectures. it was a big upgrade from the tiny mp3 player and is good to take on holiday when connected to the ideck. i now find i cant walk for long distances without music (lol)

I own one and i LOVE it! I found it lying in the street, and no one claimed it, so it’s now all mine! I had to buy all the acessories, like charger and USB cable.
I want to get a iPod Touch later.
