I absolutely love my iPod 5th Gen. I agree with others who have said it looks so much slicker than the classic versions that came after it. To this day it works very well. The only issue I had was dropping it once about three years ago and being heart broken that the hard drive died in the process. I thought that it was gone forever. After that I bought a iPod nano and an iPod Touch which are great but not as solid as my 5G iPod "classic". So i decided one day to replace the hard drive on it and bring it back to life. I found a hard drive on ebay for about $20 and the opening tools for $10, watched a bunch of videos on YouTube for opening it. It wasn't as easy as it looks in the video but I carefully figured it out. Replaced the drive and now it works perfectly. My favorite iPod is back and works great. Don't get me wrong, the iPod Touch is an amazing device but it's features put it into another realm. As far a straight up mp3 player go this one is the absolute best and has so much more capacity.

i've had mine and have used it solidly for 5 years and i love it! the battery life has declined a lot, which is annoying, but other than that it is still perfect! and, in my opinion, it is by far the best looking iPod past and present (i have a white one, the new silver ones are really ugly tbh) i have only just used up the 30g, but to be honest i can probably delete a few movies i never watch off it anyway.

I've had my iPod 5th generation since it first came out and I still use it all the time. It has obvious signs of use but I don't care it still works wonderfully except for a few times when it froze.

Amazing. Kudos to Apple support. My trusty 30G 5th gen had suffered the 'no-audio-issue-but-if-you-squish-the-bottom-right-hand-corner-hard-enough-the-sound-might-come-back-on' syndrome. So I just left my 5th gen lying around for about a year until someone stole my iTouch, I tried to resurrect my 5th gen again. To my surprise, the issue I mentioned above was a known manufacturing defect on these models. I called Apple support, mentioned the words 'Warranty Exception' and the 'no-audio' defect, 20 minutes later they agreed to fix it at no charge. regardless that it was 3 years out of warranty. They didn't end up fixing it though, they sent me a 'new' refurbished 5th gen 30G iPod, with a new case and battery even! I f***in love Apple support. They've won me over as a life-long customer. You pay a premium for Apple products, but as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for. . ."

This ipod has been great! I have had mine for 5 years with no problems. I have had over 2 thousand songs with movies off and on. Just recently in the last 6 months, the battery wont last a full day, so im planning on upgrading.

i kinda like the look and feel to the fifth generation better than that of the new ipod classics, but that's just me. this was my first ipod ever and i had for well around 3 years before it got stolen. it had only frozen on me twice previously but after i restored it, it worked fine...i was really sceptical about getting the classic but i figured it would work out.
